This Newsweek anti-Trump diatribe is predictable. The Liberal media’s Trump-bashing fixation-slash-agenda has become as unsurprising as the hyperbole issuing from the subject of their ire.
In this latest instance of Trump Derangement, Newsweek’s writers hopped on Telegram and cherry-picked some suitably anti-Trump messaging from “the other side” and sifted them into the doughy mix that is another subtle hit piece seeking to deflate Trump enthusiasm. Anti-Trump shills are pervasive and their spew does not prove anything other than leftist desperation.
Both QAnon and longtime supporters of former President Donald Trump criticized his Saturday night speech in Wellington, Ohio, accusing him of the “same-old, same-old” grievances against Democrats and his 2020 election loss to President Joe Biden.
QAnon supporters, some of whom are the former president’s most fanatical online backers, sent a barrage of messages through the Telegram app that expressed boredom and even anger at the speech Trump described as “the very first rally of the 2022 election.” They blasted Trump for not mentioning how his January 6 insurrection supporters are “rotting in jail.” And numerous others said Trump should be booed by the Ohio rallygoers for even “bringing up the word ‘vaccine,'” specifically because they believe COVID-19 was entirely a hoax.
But a majority of the top QAnon user comments simply expressed their outright boredom with Trump’s post-election stump speech, in which baselessly claimed he won in November 2020 and blasted any dissenting GOP members as “traitors.”
“I’m 100% with the dude, but literally switched from his speech 3 mins ago. Im [sic] done with his speeches,” wrote QAnon user Jacob.
“Judging by the Trump-supporting normies I live with, they were bored with his speech,” wrote another QAnon user. “I support Trump but this is getting ridiculous.”
“Love President Trump. But, if I’m being honest, it’s a lot of the ‘same old-same old,’ we’ve all heard a thousand times before,” wrote Annmarie Calabro.
And you know what?
I agree with this. Trump’s time is past. He jumped the shark long ago and it’s time to move on to the next MAGA hope and recognize Trump as the turning point he represents: the voice he gave those of us who do not apologize for America First and the facades of Identitarian politics. Trump solely possessed the bravado and cultural petulance to give our defiance a Presidential spokesperson who represents those of us who do not find safe harbor in modern society which is rife with liberal identity politics.
Unfortunately, by being the One to pave the lonely path, Trump’s brief political shelf-life was absolutely set in stone; a man who could weather the barbs of culture could similarly not weather his reputation’s trivialization as it retreated from the public eye. The only chance Trump had to maintain his persistent and disruptive vibe would have been an electoral victory last November.
It was not to be. As he eased away from the public podium in January, his voice became weak and cumbersome.
We defended him, but without him to defend, his fire waned.
Thank you Donald, I appreciate what you did. But we want more action, more results, now. You were the portal.
It is time for the next step. It’s time to hand the mantle to your successor.
There is nothing wrong with being the symbolic father of the movement.
