There are some Twitter users who make a very grandiose stink when that site embarks on one of its many oppressive scourges of its Conservative users. These people wail dramatically, declaring that they are done with Twitter. Finished. They are leaving it!
And I say whatever to that. Leave then.
I don’t agree with most of Twitter’s stances but I’ll admit its appeal is that stellar reach into the featureless wasteland of mainstream culture it offers. I’ve written here that the Right must immerse itself in mainstream American society for any chance of survival. The mainstream is a majority group which increasingly harbors Leftist sensibilities. Only by burrowing into mainstream culture, slyly if necessary, will we be in a position to usurp and shape its future incarnations. By fleeing the playground of popular culture, we only alienate ourselves and pathologize our beliefs and values. If our only response Twitter’s complicit erection of liberal mainstream culture is self-imposed exile, we only help perpetuate and empower America’s downward spiral.
Twitter’s latest assault on the Right is removal of 70,000 Q-tard accounts.
More than 70,000 Twitter accounts linked with the far-right QAnon conspiracy movement have been banned from the platform following riots in the Capitol last week, the company announced Monday as part of a wider crackdown on conspiracies, misinformation and “ attempts to incite violence, organize attacks, and share deliberately misleading information about the election outcome” that has seen President Donald Trump and his high-profile supporters permanently blocked from the platform over fears he will use it to incite violence.
It is excruciating to watch media giants kowtow to the fragile sensibilities permeating the modern hive mind. I have no patience for Q-Anon and their insatiable delusions for just endings and promised Happenings. And what’s up with that bewildering deification of Donald Trump and their bizarre biblical imagery? Mostly, they are harmless LARPers who aren’t quite capable of overturning their motorized cart, much less the government.
Q-Anon presents no more a danger to American security than the thuggery spawn that proliferates courtesy of BLM action, but there is one stark difference: mainstream White and Jewish society forgives, even encourages, racial aggression as long it’s not the white sort. BLM’s passive and indirect condoning of looting and urban conflagration during the summer of Floyd was an easily dismissed “quirk” for mainstream media and its enablers. The scale of those riots and the physical destruction they caused across the country dwarfed the ridiculous petit insurrection that waddled into the Capitol last week, but the disproportionate response by mainstream culture leaves little doubt of whose agenda reigns.
Following the horrific events in Washington, DC, last week, here are some of the steps we’ve taken to protect the conversation on our service from attempts to incite violence, organize attacks, and share deliberately misleading information about the election outcome. It’s important to be transparent about all of this work as the US Presidential Inauguration on January 20, 2021, approaches.
That’s become the unquestionable righteous sentiment of the day. Calling last week’s event the worst thing imaginable is an obligatory rite that is beyond reproach.
Was it that bad, I wonder? Is a day approaching, or has it arrived, when a simple observation that the Mighty Rightist Insurrection of January 6 was not worthy of historical note akin to political blasphemy punished by excommunication from the Twitter Church?
